Sun Jingyuan, associate professor, doctoral supervisor, and Newton scholar, whose research direction is multiphase flow reaction engineering, polymerization microenvironment regulation, and high-end polyolefin preparation. In the past five years, more than 40 papers have been published by the first author or corresponding author in the top journals of chemical and polymer fields such as AIChE J., Chem. Eng. Sci., Ind. & Eng. Chem. Res., Macromolecules, etc., and more than 30 invention patents have been authorized in China, including 5 foreign patents. He served as the youth director of China Granular Society, the youth committee member of Process Simulation and Simulation Committee of China Chemical Engineering Society, the youth editor of Journal of Zhejiang University ( English Edition ) Series A, and the long-term reviewer of more than 10 kinds of journals at home and abroad, such as AIChE J., Chem. Eng. Sci., Journal of Chemical Engineering. At present, he is the moral education tutor of the Joint Institute of Chemical Reaction Engineering, College of Chemical Engineering.

In addition, Sun Jingyuan attaches great importance to the physical and mental health care of graduate students and the construction of cultural atmosphere, and leads the Party and League branch of the United Institute to win the construction project of the most beautiful "research space" in the school of Chemical Engineering, creating a serious, lively, free and open research atmosphere, and the project has been awarded the first prize once and the second prize once.

Sun Jingyuan's research, starting from polymerization reaction mechanism and molecular chain growth behavior, involves the cross knowledge of polymer chemistry, polymerization reaction engineering, fluid mechanics and other disciplines, and is committed to promoting the engineering preparation of high-end polyolefin materials. In the process of postgraduate training, Sun Jingyuan also adheres to the concept of "industry-university-research linkage and all-round education", emphasizes that the subject research should aim at the major needs of the country and major problems of the industry, encourages students to extract basic scientific problems from complex industrial phenomena, and combines the frontier knowledge of disciplines and engineering experience to tackle key problems.
As a mentor, Sun Jingyuan is strict with herself and sets an example to guide students to establish a life outlook and values of self-reliance, hard work and progress. Attaching importance to the process management of student training, it not only organizes regular topic discussions and exchanges of scientific research experience, urges students to complete course learning, academic research, factory practice, paper writing and other tasks, but also strongly supports students to go abroad to jointly train and participate in high-level academic conferences, so as to broaden the international and global vision of academic research.

As a doctoral student, Sun Jingyuan can empathize with the confusion, anxiety and other emotions that may occur during the postgraduate period. Sun Jingyuan's research group is inherited from the late chemical fluid expert Mr. Chen Gantang, and she has always kept in mind the difficult struggle process of China Chemical Industry from poverty and weakness to foreign monopoly, so in education, teaching and daily management, she has always encouraged graduate students to learn from Mr. Chen Gantang and other senior scientists to save the country by science and technology, study and think deeply, and dare to be the first. Take the initiative to tackle major problems in the industry.
Since being appointed as moral education tutor, the graduate students supervised by Sun Jingyuan have successively worked in important fields and key industries of the country after graduation, and batches of outstanding representatives have emerged. Among them, one student worked for the Ministry of Emergency Management, PRC to protect national security; 2 students who cast the "national heavyweight" and went to work in important manufacturing units in the west; 3 selected students to serve the people's well-being; To help the revitalization of petrochemical industry, 3 students went to work in Sinopec and petrochina.
