Yang Yao, Doctor of engineering

Mr. Yang Yao is born in 1989, and now he is working as a researcher and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University. He obtained a Ph.D. in Engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering at Zhejiang University in 2016, and then continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Control Science and the Department of Chemistry at Zhejiang University. From November 2019 to October 2020, he conducted collaborative research at the University of California, Berkeley. In February 2021, he joined the School of Chemical Engineering at Zhejiang University. His research mainly focuses on chemical reaction engineering and multiphase reaction engineering. Over the past five years, he has led seven research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, SINOPEC and EXXONMOBIL. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in journals well-known in chemical engineering such as AIChE J, CES, CEJ, and IECR, with 24 papers in the top four chemical engineering journals. He has also been granted more than 10 domestic and international invention patents. In 2022, he received the Young Particle Technologist Award from the Chinese Society of Particuology.
